Анино наследство

Я ношу имя своей бабушки. Мама назвала меня в честь своей матери. После замужества моей мамы они почти не общались. Мама говорила, что бабушка ни разу не держала меня на руках. Бабушка умерла, когда мне было 4 года. 

Отношения мамы и бабушки были тяжелыми: они ссорились и обижались друг на друга. Бабушка была против замужества мамы. Она упрекала маму в том, что та променяла ее на мужа, называла маму неблагодарной, не хотела отпускать от себя. Теперь моя мама также называет меня неблагодарной, хочет меня контролировать и обижается. От бабушки к маме, от мамы ко мне и сестре и так по цепочке передается «наследство» семейных обид и непонимания. Но я хочу  остановить это, и и не передавать своей дочери.

Я использую изображения моих мамы и бабушки, когда их отношения были близкими. Я проецирую эти снимки на свое обнаженное тело, показывая уязвимость перед влиянием истории семьи.

Ani's Legacy    

I have my grandmother 's name Ania. My mother wanted to please her mother and named me after her. After my mother's marriage they barely talk to each other. My mother said that my grandmother never held me in her arms. My grandmother died when I was 4 years old.

The relationship between my mother and grandmother was difficult. My grandmother blamed my mother for having exchanged her for a husband. She called my mother ungrateful, and did not want to let her go. Now my mother calls me an ungrateful. She wants to control me, and resents me. From my grandmother to my mother, from my mother to me and my sister, the «inheritance» of family grievances and misunderstanding is passed down the chain. It affects my life, and I don't want to pass it on to my daughter.

 I use images from my mother's archive that show my mother and grandmother at a time when their relationship was close, and project these images onto my naked body. I am interested in the topic of human vulnerability to the influence of family history. We carry the traits and characters of our ancestors and pass on our behavior patterns to the next generation. But we can stop it and be ourselves.
